Fire Block fire retardant in the quart bottle comes with trigger sprayer. One quart treats approximately 100 square feet, and is perfect for small projects like a curtains and drapes, wall hangings, uniforms, areas around wood stoves, and other limited areas that need to be treated for fire protection. Technical Information: Fire Block fire retardant has been tested in accordance with ASTM-E84 Test for Flame Spread and Smoke Development Values by SGS US Testing for construction materials. It has also been tested in accordance with NFPA 701 for Flame Propagation of Textiles and Films, which is the standard often referred to by NFPA Life Code 101 requirements for hanging fabrics and paper (drapes, posters, decorations) in public spaces like schools, nurseries, eldercare, theaters and more.Fire Block is a Class 'A' fire retardant, non-toxic, eco-friendly and easy for the typical consumer to use on wood, fabric and paper. Fire Block forms a thermal insulation barrier that prevents dangerous flames from spreading. Fire Block also inhibits the development of toxic hydrocarbon smoke. Applications: Use to treat absorbent materials and surfaces such as drapes, curtains, decorations, uniforms, clothing, wood, pre-construction materials, furnishings, carpeting, packing materials, motor home interiors, holiday decorations and storage boxes for added safety against fire. Basically, if it can soak into the object, it will help inhibit flames. Organic materials are best. Plastics, Styrofoam, polystyrenes and similar materials are not well protected with Fire Block - you will probably need an intumescent coating. It can also be mixed 50/50 with latex paint to inhibit flames on interior walls from spreading. Directions: Fire Block is easy to use. Just spray Fire Block on the item or surface being treated. In bulk applications, you may also dip the items and allow to drip dry. In all applications, allow Fire Block to completely penetrate the item or surface. Allow material to dry completely. If you are using Fire Block to fire retard clothing and other fabrics, and plan to wash these items in the future, it is recommended that Fire Block be reapplied after washing, as some of the product's effectiveness will be diminished due to washing.
